.

I have spent many family holidays in France over the years. When I was younger I visited many areas in France including the Loire Valley, Dordogne, Ardeche and more. So now that I have a family of my own I will be spending a lot of holidays in France as well. I have always found France to be family-friendly. Although some times I have found restaurants with no baby changing facilities so it is always best to research first.

If you look below you will find all my blog articles from the places in France I have visited with my children, with lots of information on places we visited while away.

Five Top Tips for Driving In France

I suppose driving in France is much like driving in any country. However, if you are from the UK...

Travel To France

From the UK: Many airlines fly from the UK to many French airports. You also have the choice to drive to France (which is what we normally do). You can get ferries from many ports in England including Hull and Dover. Or another choice to take would be the Eurotunnel. If we drive to France we go from Hull as this is our nearest Port.

Travelling in France

Car: Renting a car can be done from all airports (from our knowledge) and also some bigger cities. If taking your own car from the UK then remember to check what the local laws are and make sure your car has been serviced. Remember they drive on the right in France. Check out my top tips for driving in France.

Public Transport: From our experience, public transport is pretty easy to use and quite reasonable. While we were in France near Paris, we used the train to get from Compiegne to Paris. This was very easy to do and we found the trains really comfy. The following train websites can come in handy – www.tgv.com and www.sncf.fr

Taxis: Taxis can be found outside airports and in the major cities (waiting outside train stations etc) You can also phone taxis locally. Ask your hotel reception for details (they may even phone on your behalf).
