Family Travel in Belgium

We have only been to a few places in Belgium for family holidays. However, it is somewhere that we will be travelling to again in the future as it is a very beautiful country. If you look below you will find all our blog articles from the places in Belguim we have visited with our children with information on places we visited while away.

Travel To Belgium

From the UK: You can get to Belgium by air or by land. If going by land then you can take a ferry from Hull to Zeebrugge like we did or a ferry from some other ferry port from the UK. There are 3 airports in Belgium, Brussels being the main one. Easy enough to get to from the UK.

Travelling in Belgium

Car: Renting a car can be done from all airports (from our knowledge) and also some bigger cities. If taking your own car from the UK then remember to check what the local laws are and make sure your car has been serviced. Remember they drive on the right in Belgium.

Public Transport: When we were in Belgium we didn’t use public transport as we explored on foot and used our own car. However, the train website is – Belgium Rail and is easy to use. You can search the journey you wish to do, which will then show you the times all the trains go at.

Taxis: Taxis can be found outside airports and in the major cities (waiting outside train stations etc) You can also phone for taxis locally. Just ask your hotel reception for details (they may even phone on your behalf)
