This year has been pretty good for us as a family. We have managed to explore many new places abroad and where we live locally. We have managed to fit in and visit several places although none from our bucket list. Maybe another year for that?
Our year started off with our youngest son being born near the end of January. We opened the blog to the world in February. However after 10 days of “rest” after giving birth we both went back to work full time. Both our boys come to work with me (Sam) which can have it’s pros and cons I suppose.
Our year really started to get busy when we got to June. This is when we did an overnight trip to Berwick. We really enjoyed our trip and it all went smoothly with a 3 year old and a 5 month old baby.
Normally from April to end of September is for us our busy season at our business which normally means our work load triples. However I had to go map and photograph some route instructions for work so in July I headed to the Isle of Arran for 5 nights with my mum, my husbands mum and our two boys. I was walking up to 18 miles a day but I still managed to have fun (I do love hiking).
This was also the first year we attempted to go away on holiday during our busy season, so in August we headed away to France for 2 weeks (Read about Week 1 and Week 2). Unfortunately we have decided that it just isn’t feasible for us to go away during our busy season especially for such a long time.
October then seen us head to Majorca for a week. We loved this island so much, and we plan to go back again in the future as there was so much we didn’t get to see.
Lastly in November we had a weekend away in Manchester which was to visit some of our family who live down in England. Again our boys travelled so well which I am so happy about.
We have also done many day trips with our two boys which you can find reviews of in the Days Out section of the website. I’m hoping 2016 will be just as good for our family travels. Our eldest son loves travelling and learning about new places he has visited. I also love seeing the children happy and enjoying themselves. Our eldest always learns some of the local language which for me is always a bonus.
How has everyone else’s year been? Did you manage to see places?
What are your 2016 travel plans?
