Our 2016 Review

Our 2016 has been a pretty quiet year on the travel front, as work has been so busy! However, we still managed to get away and enjoy our family time together. Getting out and about is what we like best but sometimes our weekly schedule is just so full that we don’t get out as much as we would like. 2017 we hope to change that and we want to try get out and explore more.

Why not check below what we got up to and let us know in the comments what you got up to as well!

Our Travel Plans 2016 Review

Easter – France

Over the Scotland Easter Break we headed to France to stay at Le Croix du Vieux Pont. We had such a great time but felt very left down by Eurocamp during our stay. It really put us off booking with them ever again. However, we had already booked our Holland holiday (see below) with them so we had to give them another chance.

Summer – Drayton Manor

For Big K’s 5th birthday we surprised him and took him and Little K to Drayton Manor. We stayed in the Drayton Manor Hotel and both boys had a blast. Such a great child friendly theme park which is suitable for a wide age range. We will definitely be back at some point.

Summer – Islay

In the summer we also headed for a long weekend to the beautiful Isle of Islay off the coast of Scotland. It was just me and the boys, along with my parents who went. We had a number of things to get done for our work, but even though we were working we were so relaxed.

October Break – Holland

This holiday to Holland  is the holiday we had waited all year for and it didn’t disappoint. It was by far one of our most favourite holidays and we are eager to go back again! We stayed at the Duinrell Theme Park with Eurocamp in one of their Avant caravans.

Little outings – Little Drum Wood, Bracklinn Falls, Cramond

On top of our holidays away, we also had a number of great days out. We love getting out and about and hiking and cycling are what we enjoy the most. Here is hoping we get many more outdoor adventures in 2017!

2017 is already looking full, but we will take it by the horns and see what happens!

How has your 2016 been for travelling/days out? We would love to hear from you!
