We were recently at Brewers Fayre – Westwood Park, Clayton Green restaurant on our recent weekend away to Manchester. We had pre booked a table via their website. This is really easy to do and only takes 5 mins or so to book.
When we arrived we were greeted by the staff and shown to our table, who left us to settle down and get our jackets off etc. The table was right next to the soft play which I suppose can be a good or bad thing but for us it was far too noisy with kids running past and banging into the back of our chairs.

We eventually ordered our drinks and our meals. The menu has a lot of choice and we took a while to decide what we were going to have.
I would tell you what we all ordered but my memory is rubbish and I forgot to write down what my parents had! I had a half roast chicken and chips, and the boys had popin chicken and also the Cod-Apult (basically fish nuggets). Our starters of garlic bread came pretty quickly and we tucked in because we were all hungry. Once we finished and the member of staff came to collect our plates she said our main courses would be right out. That is where the service stopped.
It was nearly an hour later before we got or main courses, and that was with us trying to catch someone’s attention to ask where our food was. The boys at this point were tired, hungry and getting grumpy which wasn’t helping the matter.
The food itself was pretty decent, however after a while my chicken got pretty dry and I wasn’t too impressed with the popcorn chicken as there was hardly any chicken in it.
As we had waited so long for our main course we didn’t have time for dessert which was a shame as I was looking forward to having one.
We did have a good time at Westwood Park apart from the long wait between the courses and if we were staying in the Travelodge next door again we would try this restaurant again. If your children want to use the softplay then it is £3 for 90 minutes. Which I suppose is pretty decent for the time you are getting.
As we were staying at the Premier Inn we had breakfast at Westwood Park. First morning which was the Saturday we were met and told about the varies areas (cereal area, bread and muffins, juice etc). We ordered our various items and the food was very good. Definitely a good way to start the morning. On the Sunday morning it was self service which I found better as I could pick more from the hot food that I liked instead of only getting one of each. The muffins were also delicious. I think i had about 8 each morning (they are mini muffins, I’m not that greedy!) We would definitely recommend this restaurant.
