Scotland with kids is a great place to explore, it is a beautiful country with lots of outdoor places to visit. We could give you a list of our favourite places to take our kids but we would be here for a long time (maybe a future post!) Below is a mixture of places to visit from Glasgow, to Stirling to West Lothian.
Top 5 Places To Go in Scotland With Kids
Blairdrummond Safari Park
A great day out for all the family. We love going here and never seem to get round the whole park in one day. There are lots of animals to see, a great play area and BBQ area that you can see too. You can also see the sea lion show and the birds of prey show.
Glasgow Science Centre
Looking for ideas for a rainy day? Well…Scotland does get an awful lot of rain! This is a great solution, lots of areas to see and great interaction on all levels. There is also a play area on level 1 which you can let your kids have even more fun in. There is also the planetarium and the Imax cinema.
For the outdoorsy type or if you want to see some stunning scenery. We especially love Callander; there are lots of walks in the area and also lots of historic places to see. Great for the kids to waste some energy.
Five Sisters Zoo
Not as big as Edinburgh Zoo but we find it better as it’s not built on a massive hill like Edinburgh Zoo. You can easily spend a good 3-4 hours here looking about, there is a great play area too. Late 2015 seen the arrival of the new circus lions which the zoo raised funds for so they could give the lions their forever home.
Another great day out with your kids. There are lots to see and do inside and outside the castle. You also get some great views (weather depending) of Stirling and the surrounding areas. There is a shop and cafe also at the castle.
You can check out our Days Out In The UK Page where we have other ideas in Scotland that you could visit.
