Welcome to Travel Memories Week 27! We hope to post every week a photo from our past travels (before children included) that makes us smile and remember the moment. We love taking photos of our travels (especially me – Sam) so we thought we would start this little series and see where it takes us. Memories are so special and when we forget we can look back at all our photo albums and know that there were happy moments which we can cherish.
Our Travel Memories
This picture was taken back in 2011 when Big K was about 4 months old. Nick was already down in Manchester working for 2 weeks. I decided to drive down with Big K and spend the weekend with him. This was pretty much the worse ever journey I have ever down by myself…and is probably why I don’t take the boys out by myself! He screamed the entire journey and I had to stop at nearly ever service station on the way down. By the time I go to the hotel in Manchester it was pitch black and my nerves/confidence were shattered.
While visiting we visited Chester Zoo which is my favourite zoo. We had a really good day and even though Big K was only 4 months he seemed to enjoy it too. Really need to go back at some point, but when I have Nick with me.
The journey back was just as bad, I think it made it worse that Big K couldn’t see me while I drove which made him cry.
Have you ever had a journey done by yourself that has knocked your confidence?
