Travel Memories #28 – New York, 2006

Welcome to Travel Memories Week 28! We hope to post every week a photo from our past travels (before children included) that makes us smile and remember the moment. We love taking photos of our travels (especially me – Sam) so we thought we would start this little series and see where it takes us. Memories are so special and when we forget we can look back at all our photo albums and know that there were happy moments which we can cherish.

Our Travel Memories

This picture was taken back in 2006 in New York. This was before our boys were born on a backpacking trip that I was on with my older brother. We arrived in New York 2 days late because of flight delays which meant we had to visit all the sights in less time. We had joined a walking tour organised by our hostel which left the hostel in the afternoon and visited most of the sights. It then ended up in Times Square at night which was just an amazing sight to see. We enjoyed pizza in a little restaurant and then wandered the streets taking in the atmosphere.

New York is definitely a place we want to take our boys when they are older. I think they would really enjoy it and love exploring all the sights. I think they would enjoy the Staten island ferry the most and running riot in Central Park.

Have you been to New York with kids?

Do you have a favourite travel memory? Feel free to share, we would love to hear from you.

I have always had an interest in travel and now we have our two boys we want them to see more than just the UK. We hope to give advice and tips to other parents who are anxious about travelling with their children. You can also read about our holidays and the places we have visited while away.
