Welcome to Travel Memories Week 39! We hope to post every week a photo from our past travels (before children included) that makes us smile and remember the moment. We love taking photos of our travels (especially me – Sam) so we thought we would start this little series and see where it takes us. Memories are so special and when we forget we can look back at all our photo albums and know that there were happy moments which we can cherish.
Our Travel Memories
This picture was taken one our recent family holiday to Holland. Holland Part 2! We have so many lovely pictures from Holland that I had to do another week of pictures. We don’t usually do many group photos as it is always me taking the pictures.
However, as we were away with my parents my dad snapped this photo of us next to the windmills at Kinderdijk near Rotterdam. In return we took a picture of my parents together.
I love learning about other countries history and the windmills were a good example. The windmills were used to pump water from one channel to the next. Nowadays there is a power station doing it. Before we went I thought the windmills were used for milling purposes so it was great to learn about then.
People also live in the windmills, I think only 2 don’t have people living in them. One being the windmill that you can go inside. It was a very interesting visit!
Have any of you been to the windmills?
Do you have a favourite travel memory? Feel free to share, we would love to hear from you.
